Good Citizen Award
The Good Citizenship Award (GCA) is a project of our Youth Engagement Team, held in primary schools across the borough. The project is specifically for YR6 pupils in support of their transition to secondary school.
The project aims to recognise pupil’s development in caring for others in their community, an act of random kindness, or to support those young people that may need encouragement to refocus their behaviour.
An annual gala ceremony, in presence of the Mayor of Croydon, is held which recognises the pupil’s achievements. Schools can also be nominated for the annual School Shield, which is awarded to a primary school that engages in a special project which develops the ‘Good Citizen’ ethos.
